Since BTS' debut on June 13, 2013, the kpop group has continuously given hope to the younger generation through music.

Just in 2018 itself, BTS received 28 rewards. In November of 2017, BTS won their first Billboard award. They broke Justin Bieber's winning streak of 6 awards, and gained even more fans as a result. The next year, they were the first kpop group to perform live at the Billboard awards, and won the same award again. BTS were also the first to enter the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. BTS has won countless more awards since their debut in June of 2013. BTS went from begging for people to come to their concerts in the streets of Hollywood, to performing in the Citi Field stadium, which sold out in minutes. Citi Field has a seat capacity of 41,922.

Kim Taehyung grew up with two younger siblings, a sister named Kim Eon Jin, and a brother named Kim Jeong Gyu.

Kim Taehyung grew up in Daegu on a farm, where his family made little money and it was hard to get by. He never thought he would become famous. It was first thought that he would become a farmer.

Taehyung's childhood dream was to pursue music, so his father urged him to play the saxophone in high school. He played it for three years.

He went to Big Hit Entertainment auditions to support his friend, but someone from the rookie development team saw him and suggested that he auditioned. Taehyung called his father and got permission, and then the auditioned there that day. Kim Taehyung was the only one to make it through in the auditions.

Taehyung was hidden by Big Hit for two years until their debut.

Park Jimin lived in Busan as oldest brother, his family consisting of a mother, father, and younger brother. Jimin attended Busan High School of Arts as the #1 student in modern dance. He then later transferred to Korea Arts High School with V. In previous years, Jimin was top of his school and the class president for nine years. He was also the valedictorian.

Jimin was the last member to join BTS.

In his previous years as an idol, Jimin used to view himself as fat and he starved himself for a very long time. Another member of BTS, Kim Seokjin, got him out of it and he got back onto a regular eating schedule. Fans used to call him Mochi cheeks, which he was insecure of because he didn't like his cheeks to be so chubby, although fans loved it.

BACKGROUND:

Min Yoongi was born into a poor family in Daegu, South Korea. He has an older brother and both parents. He went to high school at Apgujeong High School, and then attended Global Cyber University, and he majored in Broadcasting Performing Arts. Yoongi's parents weren't supportive at first, but later accepted it and became proud of him.

Min Yoongi was an underground rapper and producer before his debut in BTS. His rap name was "Gloss" and he started rapping in high school. It wasn't only Yoongi's rap that attracted people. He spent a lot of his time producing beats for the people in his hometown of Daegu, mostly for a group called "D-TOWN". He gained popularity among the larger rap scene, and began producing beats for more popular artists. One of his more popular rap beats was produced for "Reflow" in a song called "Who Am I."

Yoongi started becoming more interested in upping his skills, so he decided to audition for Big Hit in a rap contest. He won second place, and joined Big Hit as a producer/trainee. He was only wanting to be a producer at first but he was convinced into joining BTS in 2010.

BACKGROUND:

Jin's father is a wealthy CEO and Jin is in line to inherit that company. He has his father, mother, and an older brother.

Jin was originally scouted for SM Entertainment, but he didn't join because he thought it was a scam. When he was a college student, he was street-casted again by Big Hit Entertainment. A Big Hit staff member saw him coming off a bus and they convinced him to join Big Hit. Jin was an acting major, and he had no clue how to sing or dance. But as a trainee, he learned fast and became the fourth member of BTS.

As a trainee, Jin got accepted into Konkuk University and studied Department of Film and Visual Arts and also majored in Film and Acting and got a bachelor's degree for it. He graduated in 2017, and then got accepted into Hanyang Cyber University so he could continue his graduate studies. Now he's studying to get a Master's degree in Film.
